Northvolt Materials business unit is right now looking for a senior automation engineer that will take responsible for driving the development of our future SCADA layer. You will work with a variety of stakeholders and projects, support existing setups as well as be part of the automation team for our new sites. In the expansion projects, you are expected to take a leading role in defining requirements and design of the SCADA solutions in collaboration with the rest of the automation team and suppliers. In addition to above, you will be given the opportunity to contribute to our overall strategy connected to SCADA and control system, working closely with the rest of the process automation team to ensure alignment across the whole automation layer.

Process automation is a vital part of making the world’s greenest battery and it is important that you take an active role in fitting this part into the big picture for battery recycling as well as active materials development. For example, we are building one of the first European large-scale lithium-ion battery recycling plant together with Northolt’s active material production plant. And as being one of the first into the team, you will be given the opportunity to take part in building the team and develop the team's ways of working.

Some of the things you will do:

  • Develop our current SCADA/DCS landscape and work together with the local teams to improve existing solutions
  • Be part of expansion projects and partake in the design of the SCADA and control systems
  • Work closely with the process engineers and operations to capture requirements and design suitable solutions
  • Supplier and stakeholder management
  • Collaborate with other IT and OT experts within the company to design optimal solutions

In general you have a long experience in the field and have been part in driving large, innovative and challenging process automation projects with high demands on industrialization and scaling. Your personal characteristics can be flexibility, quality, friendliness, motivation to take on new challenges, grit and a great team spirit.
