Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for automation engineers who want to apply their technical knowledge to industrial processes and have a strong interest in control system programming. We are interested in candidates at an early stage of their career as well as candidates with solid experience! With us, you will have the opportunity to support and develop our customers with automation and digital services that enable a productive and sustainable future.

You will be an important part of Energy Industries, a division within Process Automation that delivers solutions and services in digitization, electrification and automation for the energy, water, chemical, food and pharmaceutical industry segments. To meet the demand from our customers, Energy Industries is recruiting automation engineers in northern Sweden. We work with a strong focus on developing and future-proofing Swedish energy supply and our offer includes everything from customized automation solutions to services for advanced analysis and service. If you want to challenge yourself and build the foundation for an exciting future within ABB, this could be the role for you!

We have offices all over the country but the location for this role is in Luleå.

Your responsibilities

  • You will deliver automation solutions to our customers based on ABB's industrial control system 800xA.
  • In the role, you deliver everything from smaller automation solutions to service agreements and customer projects.
  • You will be involved in all parts of the assignments from design to commissioning, follow-up and aftermarket.
  • Your work involves responsibility for your own work planning and the assignment's budget, and having a risk-conscious approach.
  • You share ABB's core values of safety and integrity and take responsibility for your own actions, your colleagues and the business.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are a curious person with a drive to learn new things and an unpretentious team player who enjoys working with us and our customers. You have the desire to develop in a role where you will program applications in ABB's industrial control system 800xA.
  • We would like you to have experience in automation and industrial control systems (DCS/SCADA/PLC) and associated testing and commissioning (IAT/FAT/SAT) but it is not a requirement.
  • Competence in System 800xA, Advant Controller, AC800M Controller, Safety (SIL), electrical, instrumentation and field design is an advantage.
  • You have a university or civil engineering degree with relevant specialization or a vocational college (YH) with a focus on electricity, automation, data or equivalent.
  • As you will be working in a global company, you need to master Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
  • It is a prerequisite for the service that you have a B-driving license as the work periodically involves travel within the region.
