Your role and responsibilities

Then the role of field service engineer with us at ABB Drive System Service could be the next step for you. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with advanced technology and contribute to keeping Swedish industry and socially important infrastructure running, while developing your skills in troubleshooting and repair.


As a field service engineer, you work with ABB's frequency converters, power converters and similar products at our customers. Your tasks span a wide range and include troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance, but also life cycle analysis, modernization and replacement of equipment. The role is dynamic and varied, combining independent work with collaboration with both colleagues and customers. Your input is crucial to maximize the value of our services and products, which play a central role in keeping Sweden running. Your responsibilities include;

  • Prioritize safety in everything you do and contribute by reporting any risks or incidents.
  • Deliver our services with precision and high quality, to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term results.
  • Create and maintain good relationships both internally and externally through a professional and positive approach.
  • Actively contribute to improvement efforts and help us develop and become even better.
  • Take the opportunity to, in time, become part of our emergency response team and further strengthen our team.
  • Stay curious and continue to develop your technical skills to always be one step ahead.

Qualifications for the role

  • You have a completed electrical engineering high school education or an engineering education at college level.
  • You have experience of electrical maintenance in industry or electrical installation work, qualification as an electrician is not a requirement.
  • You are responsible, take initiative and enjoy working independently.
  • You have a B driving license. The position requires travel, mainly day trips but sometimes with overnight stays.
  • You are comfortable working in digital tools/systems.
  • You express yourself fluently in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
  • Your flexibility and willingness to travel when needed, even outside of regular working hours, makes you a valuable asset to our customers' needs.
