Your role and responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician, you will perform service work in accordance with ABB quality standards and safety guidelines. Working closely with both customers and other ABB teams, you will act as the technical hub delivering quality and meeting customer service needs. You are responsible for providing routine maintenance and technical support on site or remotely. Location for this role is Västerås.

We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician who will play a key role in ensuring the operation of our advanced robotic systems. This is a free and varied job where your main tasks include:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Customer support and preventive maintenance
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Assessing customer needs and providing specialist support and solutions
  • Identifying and developing new service services, equipment and methods

The work is varied and requires a high degree of flexibility as the tasks can change quickly.

You will make recommendations to prevent future errors and help improve our services. We value safety and integrity highly, and we are looking for someone who shares these values. You will take responsibility for your own actions and feel accountable to your colleagues and the business as a whole. The position includes standby and travel.

Qualifications for the role

  • Vocational college education in Robot Automation, technical/workshop education in electricity or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in reading electrical drawings, mechanical drawings and manuals
  • Experience/knowledge of different vision systems
  • Knowledge of programming, e.g. RAPID, RobotStudio and PLC. RAPID, RobotStudio and PLC (TIA portal) is meritorious
  • B-driving license and interest in traveling on duty
  • High safety awareness
  • Adaptable, collaborative and solution-oriented
  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
