This position reports to the Production Engineering Manager.

Your role and responsibilities

Do you have a passion for Internal Logistics, LEAN, production flows and optimizing processes? Perfect, do you also want to test yourself in a production with logistical challenges ranging from manufacturing/assembly in single piece flow to component manufacturing in high volume flow with mostly automated work content? Right now we are looking for a Logistics Developer for our unique factory in Västerås that manufactures large electric motors and generators with world-leading properties. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our strategic initiatives in internal logistics and LEAN and preparatory studies linked to logistics development. Our production is characterized by precision manufacturing in an industrial heavy environment where outstanding quality and deliverability are key factors for competitiveness.

You will have direct reporting to the Head of Production Development and work in a dynamic and cross-functional production environment. As we are taking many new orders, we are increasing in number of employees at Machines. We have a production where the pride of professionalism permeates the daily operations.

Your work will involve close collaboration with production managers, production planners, quality functions and other key stakeholders. Your responsibilities

  • You will play a key role in driving the logistics strategy for the factory, including feasibility studies linked to logistics development initiatives.
  • You will have the main responsibility for optimizing the flow of key materials, including defining material supply principles that best meet the needs of volume, sequence, etc.
  • The role includes overall driving for the development/setup of warehouse management system (WMS) and its integration with other system solutions.
  • Defining the packaging requirements for incoming materials is an important part of your role where you collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective packaging solutions.
  • In addition, you will be responsible for developing the day-to-day coordination to secure critical material deliveries, including third party storage solutions.
  • You will also actively contribute to the development of supply chain key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery (OTD) and supplier on-time delivery (ROTD) requirements.
  • Furthermore, you will drive initiatives to optimize inventory turnover, reduce material storage costs and minimize costs of non-conformities, such as handling damages and defects in incoming materials.

Qualifications for the role

  • You have 3-5 years of work experience in production development, LEAN or internal logistics development in the manufacturing industry.
  • We are looking for you who have a master's or bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • It is meritorious with good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience in the application of industrial principles for material replenishment, including JIT, 2-bin, Kitting and Kanban is also a plus.
  • As a person, you are analytical and have a problem-solving approach
  • Swedish is a strong plus and intermediate to advanced level of English is a requirement.
