Your role and responsibilities

At ABB Large Motors and Generators, we offer a complete range of motors, generators and mechanical power transmission products for a variety of industries and applications. We strive to deliver the highest quality and service to our customers worldwide, with a strong focus on helping them use energy more efficiently.

We are now looking for a dedicated and skilled Operational Buyer to join our team in Västerås. In this role, you will play a central role in ensuring material availability and improving the performance of our supplier base. You will be part of a skilled and committed team of 11 people, where we have a good atmosphere and a strong focus on collaboration. You will also have the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally in a stimulating work environment. As an Operational Buyer with us, you will play a key role in ensuring that the material flow works efficiently and smoothly.

Your main responsibilities include, among other things;

• Create and manage purchase orders according to our routines and ensure that all changes and confirmations are updated in our ERP system.
• Follow up deliveries from our suppliers and work proactively to prevent and manage any material shortages, both short-term and long-term.
• Work closely with production planning, strategic sourcing and project management to minimize the impact of potential supply challenges.
• Work with suppliers to improve their delivery accuracy, flexibility and lead times and drive actions to optimize their performance when needed.
• Manage emergency situations, such as sudden material shortages or changing needs, and take the lead in finding solutions.
• Responsible for administrative tasks such as updating systems, contract management and invoicing.

Qualifications for the role

• We would like you to have a post-secondary education in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain or material planning is a requirement.
• If you have previously worked with the purchase of products, preferably in the manufacturing industry or similar, we see it as a great advantage.
• You enjoy creating good relationships and communicate easily in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
• As a person, you are creative, goal-oriented and structured with a strong ability to deliver results.
• Experience with SAP is a big plus, and we consider it a requirement that you have good knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
