ABB Robotics & Discrete Automation Business area provides robotics, and machine and factory automation including products, software, solutions and services. Revenues are generated both from direct sales to end users as well as from indirect sales mainly through system integrators and machine builders. www.abb.com/robotics

This position reports to R&D Team Lead.

Your role and responsibilities

• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of robotic components.
• Develop and configure robotic systems to meet specific application requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative robotic solutions.
• Perform simulations and testing to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to mechanical design and system configuration.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and mechanical design.
• Proficiency in FEA software (Siemens SimCenter and Nastran NX preferred) and CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with robotic systems and automation is a plus.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement, Swedish is considered an advantage
