At ABB, we are dedicated to addressing global challenges. Our core values of care, courage, curiosity and collaboration - combined with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity - are key drivers in our goal to empower everyone to create sustainable solutions. This is our story. Make it your story.

Your role and responsibilities

Are you ready for a technically challenging and varied role in service - with a focus on cutting-edge technology and world-class customer relationships? Do you want to work in a welcoming environment where colleagues support each other and where you get to make a difference with some of the biggest players in the paper industry? Then the role of QCS (Quality Control System) Service Engineer could be the next step for you!

In this role, you will be a key person in ensuring that our customers - mainly in the Scandinavian pulp and paper industry - can produce with the highest quality and availability. You will work with service, maintenance and troubleshooting on our installed QCS systems, but also have the opportunity to develop in areas such as sensor technology, measurement technology, electronics, mechanics and computer-based systems.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Own responsibility for service deliveries to customers and drive technical problem solving, often in the field.
  • Independent work in combination with close cooperation in an experienced and well-functioning team.
  • Travel within Sweden, Scandinavia, Poland and the rest of Europe (up to about 100 travel days per year, where the majority takes place within Sweden).
  • On-call duty approximately every 4 to 5 weeks.

To give you the best possible start, we offer a solid introduction where you get to follow experienced colleagues out to customers, get to know our technology and build strong relationships both internally and externally. Readiness is only included when you feel confident in the role. Although the main focus is on traditional field service, we welcome you to develop our digital service offerings in the long term - we are happy to help you grow as technology develops.

Qualifications for the role

  • More than three years of practical experience from the process industry, or a recent engineering graduate with a strong interest in the field.
  • Experience of customer and supplier contacts is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Knowledge of control technology is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
  • B-driving license
  • An innovative and analytical problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment with demands for flexibility and short-term planning.
