Your role and responsibilities

Are you a communicative plant designer with an interest in both leading others and delivering yourself in customer delivery projects, as well as constantly learning and developing together with colleagues and customers?

We are looking for a solution-oriented plant engineer who wants to take technical leadership for projects in the paper, pulp and metal industry in Sweden - and drive improvements and automations for the department's tools and processes to meet the challenges of the future.

Main responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership: Responsible for technical delivery from sales to commissioning, ensuring that design and delivery meet regulatory, quality standards, and safety requirements in a cost-effective manner. Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), visual inspections and regular audits.
  • Project Coordination: Plan, lead, design, and coordinate technical work from sales support to commissioning in both large and small customer projects and drive design, installation and delivery phases.
  • Team lead: You have an interest in coaching others to grow in their roles and are keen to contribute to improving engineering processes, tools, templates and ways of working.
  • Customer contact: Participate in customer meetings and ensure project alignment and customer satisfaction, including site visits and commissioning.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with the sales, project and service teams, as well as purchasing and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and quality delivery.

Qualifications for the role

  • Engineering degree in Electrical Power, Energy or Automation Engineering with at least 3 years of professional experience in AutoCAD Electrical, ElproCAD, Eplan or Engineering Base.
  • Knowledge of plant design and industrial control systems, preferably in process industries such as paper, pulp, mining or steel.
  • A willingness to continuously learn and develop together with colleagues and customers
  • You share ABB's core values of safety and integrity, which means that you take responsibility for your actions and feel a responsibility for your colleagues and our business
  • You are structured and flexible, with good ability to communicate with our customers.
  • Fluent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • B-driving license is required as customers are located in smaller towns all over Sweden
  • Advantageous: Experience from previous management position; Knowledge of industrial control systems (eg 800xA), drive systems and ABB products and systems; Experience from the process industry, especially in the pulp and paper industry, mines or the iron and steel industry.
