Your role and responsibilities

ABB is one of the leading providers of electrical power products, systems and services around the world. The market is growing and we need more people. Right now we are looking for UPS (uninterruptible power supply) service technician / engineer to work with ABB UPS systems to Västerås or Kista office! Do you want a varied and free work in a real future industry? Have you previously worked as a UPS electrician or similar and want to further develop in power technology, service and maintenance in a growing department?

We have a long-term plan for this position where you will have good opportunities to familiarize yourself with the technology and ABB's offer together with our experts. After building up a good product knowledge, there are several further development steps on the commercial side, leadership or project management.

Our mission is to provide services that increase reliability, availability and profitability and reduce the environmental impact of the customer's production facilities. We cover the entire life cycle of the plant and help our customers work with continuous improvements.

  • You commission UPS systems and associated battery storage systems.
  • You will be engaged in remedial and preventive maintenance of UPS plants.
  • Repair and troubleshoot UPS and associated battery storage systems.
  • You act as sales support and resource in quotation work, including for upgrades and rebuilds of UPS plants and systems.
  • You will be part of an emergency response team in the near future.
  • You share ABB's core values of safety and integrity, which means that you take responsibility for your own actions while feeling responsible for your colleagues and the business

Qualifications for the role

  • You know electrical systems both in theory and in practice. You have worked with 3-phase systems and have an overall understanding of how an electrical system is built in an industrial plant.
  • You have experience as a service technician / engineer at UPS service or as a maintenance electrician at industrial plants or similar activities.
  • You can read mechanical and electrical drawings in addition to being a user of computers and measuring instruments.
  • Experience of working with electronic boards / PCB repairs in the past is meritorious.
  • Experience of plant design, commissioning and testing is meritorious.
  • You master both English and Swedish in speech and writing.
  • As travel is included in the service, it is important that you enjoy a mobile existence.
  • You like to work both mechanically and practically with screwing and fixing as with electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • You have a B driving license, can use a computer in your work and know how to handle and interpret measurement data
