Company description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.

About the role

Are you passionate about technological development? Do you like to collaborate to find the best solution? Then we can offer you career opportunities in a modern workplace with challenging tasks and exciting projects.

The energy transition is the defining issue of our time, and a central part of the solution is to transport energy from producers to consumers. Within the Transmission & Distribution business area and the Transmission Lines section, AFRY works with the physical power lines. We have projects in all phases; from feasibility studies and permits to design with the preparation of tender documents, to construction support and completed lines. Our customers are mainly the major Swedish electricity grid companies, but we also work for other players in the energy sector such as wind and solar power producers. Right now we are in the start-up phase of the work in the Inland package - Svenska Kraftnät's largest project ever. We have a strong focus on solving customers' challenges and digital transformation, and we see business development as a natural part of our daily work.

The power line industry has started working with AMA later than other construction industries, as the tool has not previously been adapted to power line poles. Today it is used in most major projects but the practice is still being developed. We are now looking for a person with experience of AMA who is eager to apply their knowledge in the power line industry! The role involves writing, compiling and coordinating documentation for descriptions according to AMA. You will have a lot of contact with designers and constructors in the power line projects and will usually work in several projects in parallel. Additional tasks may include reviewing documentation before delivery. The role requires a person who is easy to communicate and does not hesitate to create their own contact routes.

The location can be flexible if you have the right skills, but you should be close to one of our offices in Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Trollhättan, Karlstad, Malmö or Värnamo.

Requirement specification

To succeed in the role, we see that you:

  • Have a college / university education with a focus on mechanical engineering, energy technology, electrical power or similar
  • A minimum of 2 years of documented experience of AMA plant, AMA El, RA and MER
  • Have good knowledge of both Swedish and English, in both speech and writing

To thrive in our team and succeed as a consultant, we believe that you are:

Bold - you dare to think new and outside the box to find new and better solutions.

Engaged - you're interested in what you do, you're proactive and curious to learn more. You understand the importance of delivering good work to customers and you are happy to share your experiences.

Team player - you see the benefit of supporting each other and solving our own and our customers' challenges together.

You are also responsible and understand the importance of structure in your work. As you will have many contacts in the daily work, communication is important.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in the consulting or contracting industry
  • Experience from project planning and/or contracting in infrastructure
  • B driving license
