Company description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.

About the role

With a proud history and an exciting future, the nuclear industry is the place where you can make a real difference in shaping the energy landscape of tomorrow. At Nuclear Sweden, we work in close collaboration with our customers, carrying out projects of varying sizes ranging from complex modernization projects, replacement projects to decommissioning projects. In other words, we have a broad competence that allows us to help both our customers and each other to develop. Join us at Nuclear AFRY and let's create a better and greener world together!

We now have a need to strengthen our group and are now looking for more automation engineers to join us. In the role of automation engineer, you will work as a consultant in various assignments towards the nuclear industry, either directly in the customer's organization or in one of our in-house projects.

Our assignments vary from shorter maintenance projects to longer and more complex modernization projects where we usually get involved already during the project analysis. We work on advanced and challenging projects in the areas of automation and digitalization. Within the group, collaboration and mentorship are important keywords and we always help each other to develop in the best way. The work may include, but not be limited to, the following tasks:

  • Projecting, systemizing, programming, verifying and commissioning automation projects in the nuclear industry
  • Active contribution to feasibility studies, investigations, support and service commitments
  • Participate in the sale of technical support and meetings with customers and subcontractors
  • Participate in the development of methods and tools for streamlined engineering and improved quality

As the position operates in security classified areas, you will be required to undergo drug tests and security clearances before employment can begin.

Requirements

Competence, as we all know, comes in different shapes and packages, but what unites us at Nuclear is that we all see ourselves as Brave, Devoted, Teamplayers. This means that we like to collaborate with each other, rather than compete, and that we are driven and curious to constantly learn new things.

As you will often work in parallel assignments, it is also important that you have the ability to quickly absorb new knowledge and create structure in your everyday life. This is to be able to adapt to different types of expectations and manage your projects in the best way, both for you and your customers.

In addition to these personal competencies, we are looking for you who have:

  • Post-secondary education in automation or related field
  • Experience of independent work as an automation engineer in industrial projects
  • Good knowledge of ABB 800xA
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, as Swedish is used frequently within AFRY and with our customers
  • B driving license as travel is a natural part of the role

We see this as a merit:

  • Experience with ABB Advant AC450
  • Experience from the nuclear power industry

The location for this role is Uppsala, Gävle or Västerås. Travel occurs on a weekly basis to our customers' nuclear power plants.
