About the role

Our automation team in Örebro is a bunch of technology-interested people working in various roles related to industry, electricity and automation. We work with some of the market's largest customers either under AFRY's auspices or directly in our customers' operations. Our clients work mainly in the manufacturing and defense industries, where we contribute with specialist knowledge to their projects and deliveries. The assignments and projects are mainly local, and often with customers who are recurring. In some projects you follow the customer's standard and in some projects you set the standard; your expertise is therefore crucial to the success of our customers and AFRY.

As an Automation Engineer with us, you get to work with automation in all its phases; you are given the opportunity to work with a broad portfolio of projects, including in the defense, basic and manufacturing industries. The role may involve the development of control systems in larger and smaller projects, such as upgrades in existing systems but also new construction of completely new systems. You will also work with programming, commissioning, system and functional descriptions and/or project management in automation depending on your interest and experience.

Requirement specification

As you will be working on finding solutions to advanced problems, we would like you to like problem solving. We envisage that you value collaborating with others and are committed, relationship building and responsible. In addition to this, you are interested in developing yourself and helping to develop your colleagues and customers. It is important that you thrive and have fun at work, which is why we attach great importance to your personal qualities. To thrive with us, we believe that you are flexible and have the ability to work on several projects at the same time. To succeed well and thrive in the role, we believe that you have:

  • Relevant education in the field or equivalent work experience.
  • Many years of experience as an automation engineer and good knowledge of working in Siemens software, specifically Siemens Tia Portal is highly meritorious. Experience of other DCS/PLC/SCADA is also relevant and interesting for the position.
  • Have a B-driving license as traveling at times is a natural part of your role.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Additional information

As an employee, you are offered the opportunity to be part of a global group both at AFRY and at the client, which can open doors to international experiences. We invest in your personal development and offer ongoing training. In the client's operations, you will find generous flex hours and organize nice activities for the well-being of the staff, including a newly built gym. We strive for a good work-life balance. While we at AFRY are keen for you to thrive in the consulting role, various well-being and competence-promoting activities are also organized.

The last day to apply for the position is 2025-01-18. The position may be security classified and subject to defense secrecy. Swedish citizenship and an approved security clearance may be a requirement for employment.
