Company Description

AFRY is a leading European company with global reach in technology, design and consulting. We accelerate the transition towards a sustainable society. We are 19,000 dedicated experts in infrastructure, industry, energy and digitalization, creating sustainable solutions for future generations.

About the role

We at AFRY RDT (Real Digital Twin) want to add more people working with simulation and emulation, to our successful venture in the pharmaceutical and process industry. With us, you will have the opportunity, together with your team of specialists, to work on implementations of test beds and digital twins for industrial process and automation systems. Our product RDT provides a digital replica of production facilities that behaves and generates data in the same way as physical facilities. In order to iteratively test automation systems, step by step, we emulate hardware and simulate processes to the level required by our customers to meet their needs.

Your role will be to analyze and understand our customers' needs, which means specifying and concretizing customer requirements, formulating solutions and making the right delimitations to minimize costs and risks. You will work on projects involving multiple disciplines, such as process and automation, both practically and theoretically. You will also:

  • Manage commissioning issues and adjustments based on design as well as conduct structured off-line tests to ensure system functionality.
  • Responsible for communication and integration between different systems, including process flows, PLC/DCS, SCADA/MES, communication protocols and IT systems.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new working methods and tools to create value for our customers. We strive to be at the forefront of working methods, implementation tools and value creation.

We are a relatively small team and our customers are in all industrial sectors with exciting production and technologies where digitization is critical for continued competitiveness. Our assignments are primarily conducted in-house at our own premises, although travel and customer visits occur to a lesser extent.

Requirement specification

With us, you get the opportunity to work in an environment where great opportunities for innovation exist, so a prerequisite for us is that you have an interest in using technology to revolutionize the industry and help customers find the right solutions. We therefore value your responsiveness and ability to collaborate across different technology disciplines, as you will be expected to manage hand-offs between them using automatic generation, training and efficient working methods. Your curiosity and problem-solving skills are also important for the position, as you are expected to manage handovers between technology disciplines using automatic generation, training and efficient working methods.

We work closely with each other, which means that you need to be a team player who works in a structured way, communicates well and has the ability to manage your time well.

You also have:

  • Relevant industry experience; you have previously worked with process design, have an understanding of how different components work in a plant, see the connection between components in a flow and how the different parts of a plant are controlled.
  • Experience in commissioning and knowledge of the connection between disciplines in automation such as electrical design, PLC / DCS and SCADA / MES. If you have also worked with simulation/emulation, this is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Relevant educational background, such as a master's degree in chemical engineering or automation and mechatronics.
  • Ability to express yourself professionally in Swedish as well as English.
