Company description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together, we are accelerating the transition to a more sustainable society.

About the role

With over 1400 employees, our Buildings business area is one of Sweden's largest players in the construction and real estate sector. We create sustainable, building-related technology and design solutions for property owners, contractors and industry. We continue to receive great confidence from our customers and now we are strengthening our Sustainable Construction section to better meet the demand for our services. You will be part of the Sustainable Construction section where the focus is on teamwork, skills development and perhaps most importantly - we have fun at work together! The Sustainable Construction section in Gothenburg currently has about 15 employees.

We are a business where competence is highly prioritized, where the exchange of experience is in focus while you at AFRY are quickly given the opportunity to take responsibility. We see that there are good opportunities for you to grow in responsibility as our section develops.

As a Climate Coordinator with us, you will lead the work in assignments with:

  • Contribute in early stages with expertise and advice to create good conditions for a climate-smart building
  • Coordinate and support clients, the project team and contractors regarding climate-related requirements
  • Support clients in the climate transition by, among other things, developing strategies, roadmaps and goals
  • Coordinate and perform climate declarations and other LCA calculations according to, for example, Level(s), NollCO2, LEED, BREEAM-SE and other environmental certification systems
  • In your role, you will be an assignment leader and guide less experienced colleagues

You will work as a responsible assignment leader in projects and put the customer and the customer's needs at the center to create the conditions for more business. Central to the role of Climate Coordinator will be to create long and sustainable relationships built on trust with our customers. You will have several contact points both internally and externally and act as an advisor on climate impact issues, as well as participate in networks that drive development in the industry.

At AFRY, help is always available, both from our own group and from our colleagues at other AFRY offices. We have a structured approach to mentoring where you can be both mentor and mentee. As part of a large consulting firm, we have the opportunity to work smart and bring broad knowledge in all technical areas in a cross-border exchange of skills - whatever the project requires, we can help each other to solve it! We can offer an opportunity to work in varied assignments with a wide range of project types and good opportunities for development.

Our key words show the way

  • Brave: The current role will require courage to dare to try new ways to support our customers in working towards their goals for climate-neutral construction.
  • Devoted: We are dedicated to the tasks we take on. We believe that your commitment to sustainability issues and the desire to be involved and influence our industry is a driving force in your work.
  • Teamplayer: The role will involve working in teams and working to ensure that the team pulls in the same direction so that the set goals are met.

You will be stationed in Gothenburg with the possibility of partly sitting in one of our offices in Varberg, Borås, Alingsås, Skara or Stenungsund. Assignments and projects are strengthened throughout the region and the role involves contact with colleagues in our other offices in Sweden, Scandinavia and Europe. Travel will occur in your work and when opportunities arise for projects abroad - this can also be included in the role.

Requirement specification

You should have at least 5 years of experience working with minimizing climate impact in construction projects, various types of LCA calculations and certification systems. We believe that you are currently working as a sustainability strategist at a real estate company, contractor or industrial company, EPD manager at a material manufacturer, or you are already working as a consultant in the field.

Certification / accreditation in one of the certification systems (eg NollCO2, Miljöbyggnad, LEED, BREEAM-SE) is meritorious, as well as having knowledge and experience of the GHG Protocol, SBTi, Level (s) and EU taxonomy technical screening criteria for new construction of buildings.

Educationally, you have a university or civil engineering degree, or you have accumulated equivalent skills through longer work experience.

As a person, you are driven, committed, structured and self-driven with a clear focus on teamwork. Furthermore, you are good at building, maintaining and managing your existing relationships and you are motivated by finding new business opportunities. As you will have multiple points of contact, you communicate easily with your customers and colleagues and are not afraid to lead and participate in technical discussions. You have experience of being a project manager and leading less experienced employees.

Although we are an international company, we value that you master the Swedish language orally as well as in writing to meet our customers' needs. In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are Brave Devoted Teamplayers - are you too? Then we would like to welcome you with your application to us!
