Company description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together, we are accelerating the transition to a more sustainable society.

About the role

The energy sector is growing and so is the demand for AFRY's services. In order to meet our clients' needs and take on even more exciting projects, we need to strengthen our organization with additional consultants in permit assessment and EIA. Do you have experience of permit work in the energy sector or other infrastructure, are solution-oriented and want to work on Sweden's most important projects? Read on and apply to us today!

You will belong to a group where the main focus is permit issues in the energy sector. You will, among other things, work with permit processes under the Environmental Code and the Electricity Act, consultations, environmental impact assessments, notification cases and exemptions under the Environmental Code, location studies and accessibility studies. The projects may concern power lines, wind power, renewable energy, district heating, etc. both locally, regionally and nationally. You will be part of a permitting group with both senior and more junior colleagues, where our strength lies in utilizing each other's skills and ideas. It is important for us to have an open working climate where we have high ceilings and develop together. All our projects have their complexity and condition-specific challenges, but through the exchange of expertise and discussions in the team, we can create both successful projects and develop in our knowledge and in our professional role. We often work together with our colleagues on the technical side and in many projects, permits and technology collaborate throughout the project.

AFRY is a leading consulting firm and our size, our expertise and our many talented consultants mean that we are able to take on even the largest and most complex projects. At AFRY you will have the opportunity to work in different roles, take great responsibility and build relationships with both internal and external contacts. If you are interested in assignment and project management, there are opportunities to work with this. If you have any particular specialist skills, you can help develop AFRY's range of services.

Requirement specification

As the work as a consultant involves many contacts with clients, authorities and landowners, we are looking for you who enjoy creating good and trusting relationships with different types of people. You have very good communication skills and enjoy both working with others and working independently. You are meticulous and keen to ensure that your work is of a high quality. You share your skills and experiences and are interested in learning from your colleagues.

To succeed in the role, you need to have the following experience and background:

  • You have a degree as a Civil Engineer (Environmental, Surveyor, Community Builder), Natural Scientist, Natural Geographer, Biologist or similar;
  • You have at least 2 years of experience working with permit issues, EIA and/or land access from power lines or other infrastructure projects;
  • You can express yourself very well in Swedish in both speech and writing, as you will draw up legal documents and have many contacts, both internally and externally.

We consider it a merit if:

  • You have experience from assignment management or other equivalent role.

We offer you a flexible work environment and great freedom under responsibility as we understand that everyone's life looks different and the importance of having a good work-life balance. At AFRY, we have a culture of sharing knowledge with each other. We hope that you will learn as much from us as we will from you.
