About the role

Our consultants at AFRY Nuclear run projects and perform assignments in several technical areas; mechanical/process, electrical/automation, construction and industry-specific areas such as reactor safety and radioactive waste. We carry out projects of various sizes ranging from component replacements to complex modernization projects. In other words, we have a wide range of expertise that allows us to help both our customers and each other develop! In addition, we have 19,000 other colleagues at AFRY so together with them we have a really impressive competence bank to market to our clients.

We are now looking to expand our group with one or more development engineers with a primary focus on mechanics for consulting assignments in nuclear power. In the role as a development engineer in mechanical design, you will have the opportunity to work in exciting projects where your assignment will include, but not be limited to, the following tasks:

Since a large part of the work will be carried out in collaboration with neighboring departments, we are looking for you who have good communication skills. You can be direct and honest, but also give others time to express their views. You're not afraid to make new connections to drive the work forward and help in whatever way is needed for the team to perform.
Equally important to the role is that you are meticulous and attentive to detail. This will help you to ensure that the processes are handled in a structured and safe way. As you will often be working on parallel assignments, it is also important that you have the ability to use your knowledge and experience in a flexible way. This is to be able to adapt to different types of expectations and manage your projects in the best way, both for you and your customers
In addition to personal skills, we are looking for you who are professional and have work experience of working with the development of mechanical processes and systems or mechanical components. You have a technical education at university level in machine, mechanics or equivalent field.

As the position operates in security classified areas, you will undergo drug tests and security checks before employment can begin. To work in security classified areas like this, Swedish citizenship is required.
