Company Description

AFRY is a leading European company with global reach in technology, design and consulting. We accelerate the transition towards a sustainable society. We are 19,000 dedicated experts in infrastructure, industry, energy and digitalization, creating sustainable solutions for future generations.

We at the Advanced Automation section in Varberg work with really exciting projects where we contribute with expertise and knowledge for technology-intensive automation services to our customers. Locally, we work with the market's largest customers in both our own in-house project operations and at customer sites. Our customers are found in a number of sectors, but mainly in automation, forestry, infrastructure, paper/pulp and energy. The assignments are mainly located in Varberg and the surrounding area, but also around Gothenburg and remotely throughout Sweden.

Our segment, Automation West at AFRY, is today three closely cooperating sections with about 60 colleagues located in Varberg and Gothenburg who work together in a broad competence group in technology, automation, electrical design and sustainability. We are a lovely bunch with high ceilings who value each other's differences and skills!

About the role

As an electrical designer at AFRY, you will be responsible for projects in industrial operations, where the working methods vary depending on the assignment. Often you will have the opportunity to follow the course of the project all the way from idea to commissioned plant, for example in industries such as forestry, process, energy and automation.

Your tasks include everything from design work in the form of the construction of control cabinets, upgrades in existing systems to new construction or the construction of completely new systems. You will also work with commissioning, system descriptions and/or project management in electricity depending on interest and experience.

Statement from an employee:

"What I appreciate most about my job as an electrical designer at Advanced Automation in Varberg is that I learn something new every day. Working with competent colleagues in a rapidly changing environment with completely different types of customers encourages me to continue to develop. The work gives me the freedom to work independently while always having the nearest colleague just a call away. The social aspects when you meet both on and off the job are important to me as it strengthens the team spirit and we have fun together. After 25 years in the industry, it's great to come to work every day and know that the collective knowledge of the group ensures that we maximize each project where we unpretentiously coach each other forward."
