Company description

AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together, we are accelerating the transition to a more sustainable society.

Job description

We are doing well and we are constantly winning new exciting assignments. We continue our successful investment in Norrland and to meet the great demand we are now looking for another field geotechnician for our geotechnical section.

Today we are about 55 people in the section who work with geotechnics and we are located in several places in Norrland. In our field team, we are 16 field geotechnical engineers with 14 complete units, drilling rig and truck fully equipped for all types of field geotechnical investigations. We carry out soil investigations throughout Norrland, but we also do work in other parts of Sweden as well as Norway and Finland. A job at AFRY therefore offers great opportunities to develop in a national/international environment at one of Sweden's largest engineering consulting companies.

We are looking for you who want to be involved in developing and strengthening our field geotechnics business.

As a field geotechnician, you will be responsible for a complete team with a drill rig, truck, service car and GPS.

The work largely involves being outdoors all year round and performing soil surveys. The work involves probing and sampling of soil materials and installation of groundwater pipes.

Ocular assessments of soils, measurement work with RTK-GPS, input of probing and sampling results are included in the tasks.

The service involves a lot of travel and with short notice and fast moves, which in itself provides a very varied work with great freedom. A large part of the work is elsewhere, which means accommodation in hotels.

A field geotechnical engineer must be thorough and learn to understand the purpose of the survey and be prepared to make their own suggestions for changes and additions to the survey program. The field geotechnical engineer is responsible for the continuous maintenance of their equipment. The work includes carrying out simple repairs to machinery and hydraulics, as well as being able to plan their own assignments and independently solve problems that arise.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a great interest in the profession where you are employed as a field geotechnician. We would like to see that you are driven and handy as well as interested in engines and machines. Good if you have experience of machines from before. You should have good collaboration skills, be innovative, quality conscious and solution-oriented. You should have good computer skills.

You have the ability to communicate in both speech and writing in Swedish with both your administrators and customers but also management owners and landowners.

- You must have a B driving license and preferably a C driving license.

- BE and CE driving licenses are meritorious.

- Training in road safety and chainsaw license is an advantage

You are careful, service-oriented and used to working both independently and in groups.

We attach great importance to your personal qualities and give the applicant the opportunity to create the work situation and tasks that best suit the applicant.

We are looking for you who want to be part of AFRY's success story. Are you passionate about technical development? Do you like to collaborate to find the best solution? Then we can offer you career opportunities in a modern workplace with challenging tasks and exciting projects worldwide.
