Job description

We are looking for a Functional Safety Specialist to strengthen ongoing work in functional safety in our development projects. There is already expertise in the area in the projects, and your role will be to take over and drive further safety work to ensure that the products meet current safety requirements and regulatory guidelines before launch.

As part of AFRY Linköping, you will have the opportunity to work in-house with our dedicated colleagues and take part in exciting development projects in Embedded, Mechanics and Electronics/Hardware design.

Your main tasks

  • Review product design, documentation and test results to ensure compliance with relevant safety requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and manage safety risks throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct functional safety assessments, including risk analysis and safety-related evaluations.
  • Ensure that safety-critical functions and systems are validated and documented according to applicable requirements.
  • Work with engineering teams to identify and resolve potential safety issues prior to product launch.
  • Contribute safety requirements expertise during certification and compliance processes.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Experience in functional safety, risk analysis and working with safety critical systems.
  • Understanding of safety standards such as EN 1175, ISO 13849 or similar - experience in related fields is also valuable.
  • Technical background in mechanics, electronics or software, with a focus on safety-related systems.
  • Good understanding of safety requirements in product development and validation processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with different teams and stakeholders.
