Company description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.

About the role

AFRY is looking for an enthusiastic and driven geotechnical engineer to join our growing team in the Central Section.

In Sweden, we are over 100 people in geotechnical engineering and we have a well-established national collaboration where we, among other things, share our experience, develop our working methods and distribute tasks. Section Mitt covers large parts of central Sweden and parts of southern Sweden, with offices located in Uppsala, Västerås, Örebro, Karlstad, Linköping, Norrköping and Jönköping. The section currently consists of 13 geotechnical engineers and field geotechnical engineers with different specialties and experience.

As part of our strategic growth, we are now looking for geotechnical engineers who want to continue to develop with us.

You can choose the location freely between our offices within the section.

Your tasks include:

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and design at various stages
  • Plan and coordinate geotechnical investigations in the field
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations and drawings to support project delivery
  • Participate in tender work by providing professional assessments and recommendations
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our geotechnical methods and practices
  • Keep up to date with the latest advances in geotechnical engineering and apply innovative solutions to projects
  • Ensure compliance with national standards, local regulations and AFRY quality standards in all project work

Requirement specification

We are looking for you who

  • Have a strong interest in geotechnical engineering
  • Have at least 3 years of work experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Currently live in Sweden and can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing
  • Have relevant education for the role
  • Have the ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently when required
  • Have a commitment to continuous learning and professional development

As a person, you are responsible and flexible to fit into the consulting role. You thrive in a group with high ceilings where you both learn from others and teach regardless of the number of years of experience. Of course, you are curious about geotechnics as a technical field and are happy to contribute to its development. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
