Company description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization and consulting to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.

We are 19,000 dedicated experts in industry, energy and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordic region.

About the role

AFRY has Sweden's largest structural and fluid mechanics computational activities. Our calculation groups are located in several locations, including Gothenburg and Stockholm, and we work on exciting projects for many world-leading clients in several industries. Our focus is often on product development, but some assignments also include research-related tasks.

We are now looking for a manager for our CFD group in Stockholm. The CFD operations are part of a calculation section that also includes structural mechanics. As a group manager with us, you will work with recruitment, sales, technical deliveries and personnel issues. You will lead your team's daily work and ensure the quality of your deliveries. Furthermore, you will be responsible for your staff and will continuously manage issues related to performance and well-being. You will also conduct annual salary reviews and performance reviews for your employees.

Sales is an important part of your work and you are responsible, together with the section's management, for the occupancy and results of your group. You will have the opportunity to build long-term relationships with many of AFRY's clients and work with them to develop the group's business. Recruitment is another important task in your role and you will continuously work to find the right candidates for your group and your clients. Your work will be crucial to the development and success of the group.

Requirements

We are looking for you who have many years of experience in fluid mechanics and CFD simulations. You have a relevant education as a basis and have worked towards the industry in Sweden in particular, meritorious if you have experience of the Stockholm area but not a requirement. Experience from the automotive industry is important to succeed in the role and you have previously worked with, for example, aerodynamics or internal flow. Furthermore, you have a deep theoretical understanding of fluid mechanics and broad practical skills, which allows you to handle many different types of simulations against different industries. You are also a proficient user of commercial software such as StarCCM and/or Ansys Fluent.

Your previous experience in managing projects or operations makes you a confident leader and you are driven by a desire to help your people perform and achieve great results. You lead by example and influence those around you with your ambition and commitment. Continuously prioritizing between your tasks to achieve long-term goals comes naturally to you and you have the patience to work for a long time towards set goals.

Experience in consulting and consultant sales is highly meritorious, but not a requirement. Sales is an important part of the role and you must enjoy and have a flair for building relationships with existing and new customers, as well as being able to work continuously with sales in parallel with other tasks.
