About the role


We have major commitments in exciting industrial projects in our region and we are therefore looking for a committed Group Manager in Mechanical Design who wants to be involved in building our business in the Luleå area.

At the Luleå office, AFRY has approximately 180 employees today, and we are excited about the future with the goal of expanding our team, leveraging our collective expertise and creating a strong platform for continuous growth and innovation.

As Group Manager at AFRY, you are responsible for the group's profitability, competence development and are the closest HR manager.

Our business is focused on both projects and services in steel & mining, battery and paper & pulp. You will belong to the market area North, which extends from Hudiksvall to Kiruna, and be part of the extended management team for Local Project and Engineering North.

AFRY is a company with a strong sales culture, so you should find sales and customer relations stimulating. As Group Manager, you naturally have a great responsibility for both the development and well-being of your employees and the profitability of the business. You always work for the good of the division and AFRY, and cooperation between salespeople, colleagues and managers at different units is a matter of course.



Requirement specification


We are looking for a business-oriented team player with strong sales skills who has experience in the Mechanical Engineering business area and has the skills and strong desire to continue to develop customer relationships and the organization further. You have experience in creating long-term customer partnerships and may already have a large network of contacts in the industry. You like challenges and have a natural aptitude for creating a pleasant atmosphere for your employees.

To succeed in the position, you should check off most of our list:

  • You have experience of leadership with personnel responsibility.
  • You have a technical university education in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design (or equivalent) with documented work experience in the field.
  • You have experience in sales/business relations and are used to interacting with customers.
  • It is a plus if you have your own established customer network in the region.


You also need to have a portion of humility and see cooperation as the key to success. As a person, you are self-driven, clear and communicative. You are coaching in your leadership style and have good people skills.
