About the role
We are now looking for a Section Manager for the Environment and Contaminated Areas Section in Skellefteå, Luleå and Boden. As a section manager with us, you get a role with great variety, the opportunity for many contacts and customer meetings and responsibility for achieving successful and sustainable business.
In the role, you will be the manager of about 10 competent environmental consultants at the offices in Skellefteå, Luleå and Boden. As a section manager, you are responsible for the business including goal and strategy work, profitability, marketing, quality, budget, staff and skills development. You report to the regional manager and participate in the region's management team. You are expected to work on assignments yourself about 40-50% of the time.
Within the Environment & Sustainability business area, we have several different technology networks and forums where we develop each other and share knowledge and experience. We also have access to experienced staff in HR, finance and law to help you in your role as a manager.
Within the section, we have many competent environmental consultants in permit assessment for industrial activities and water activities. We also have several experts who work with the natural environment and contaminated areas. Our clients are found in all sectors, both industry and infrastructure and in both the private and public sectors. Together and with other consultants at AFRY, we develop comprehensive solutions, which allows us to develop a better understanding of the project, which creates added value for our clients. Requirements specification
We are looking for you who have a university degree in a relevant subject area (environment, ecology, nature, bio-geo soil environment) or equivalent education, preferably with good knowledge of Swedish environmental legislation. For this role, we believe that you also have previous experience from working as a consultant, contractor or from the client side of the industry.
We place great emphasis on leadership and people management in this role and therefore hold some previous leadership experience as a requirement. We are looking for a leader who can continue to develop the team through an unpretentious, responsive and inclusive approach.
You need to have a good understanding of the issues in the field of technology and a keen interest in technology and the built environment. You need to have a business mindset, which is fundamental to the role as you will be responsible for the group's operations and finances. Developing the business and the group is part of the role of Section Manager.
The real success factors for the role are your personal qualities. Being able to build good relationships, both with customers and colleagues, is an important part of the role. It is likely that you have demonstrated good leadership in previous roles by engaging and motivating.
We also see that you have the leadership ability to take initiative and step forward when others take a step back. This, combined with your curiosity for environmental issues, creates a great potential for solving problems and developing the work group.
