About the role
As part of our investment in the Water Market Area, we are now looking for a Section Manager for our Grid and Strategy Section, in Jämtland/Western Norrland/Gävleborg/Dalarna. We offer a broad portfolio of services in water management technology and stormwater. Our consultants work in assignments from early investigation phases, detailed design to support in construction and operation phases. Our portfolio also includes water and wastewater strategic services in the form of long-term water and wastewater planning, water and wastewater tariffs and law.
In the role of Section Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop and create conditions for an organizational part that currently consists of about 20 consultants distributed within the market area. As Head of Section, you will have clear responsibility for the section's finances and strategic development as well as personnel responsibility. You will coordinate activities with other leaders within AFRY and work closely with other section managers in the region. You will contribute to the market area's strategy work and goal achievement and report to the Market Area Manager in the Northern Region.
Strong focus is on developing the section, creating new contacts and developing the service portfolio with new business opportunities to ensure continued profitability and expansion of the business. As part of the service, it also includes working on assignments.
You will be based in one of our offices in Falun, Gävle, Örnsköldsvik, Östersund or Sundsvall.
Requirements
For this role, we see that you have several years of experience from the water and wastewater industry and are well versed in its issues. You understand the customer's perspective and can therefore exceed customer expectations through good advice and offers of relevant services.
In terms of education, we believe that you are a university or civil engineer or have acquired equivalent experience from elsewhere. You have probably previously worked as a consultant, or have experience from the client side. If you have both, it is seen as a big plus.
You do not necessarily have to have been a manager before, but you should have had other leading positions where you have shown good leadership and that you can naturally engage and motivate. We see that you have good social skills and like to be challenged both technically and in terms of business and leadership. You are a relationship builder and it is a great advantage if you have an established network with customers in the region. You take on strategic challenges such as establishing new services and developing the skills and working methods of the business.
Of course, you see yourself as a team player and you enjoy sharing your knowledge both with customers and colleagues. For this role, we also see that you are fluent in Swedish and English and have an easy time expressing yourself in speech and writing.
