In the Environment & Sustainability business area, AFRY offers qualified consulting services in the environmental field. Our clients are found both in the private as well as the municipal and governmental sectors. We also offer our environmental expertise to other business areas within AFRY.
In the role of environmental consultant, you may work with the following types of assignments;
- Environmental impact assessments and permit applications under the Environmental Code in industry, wind power, solar energy, quarries, etc. as well as in infrastructure projects such as rail, road and electricity distribution.
- Strategic environmental assessment within detailed and master plans
- Environmental and nature investigations within different types of projects
- Environmental reports
Which tasks and assignments you will work in is largely determined by your experience, skills and interests. Other types of assignments and areas of expertise may therefore also be relevant. If you have expertise in, for example, nature conservation, water or contaminated land, there are also opportunities to work in the field with inventories and sampling.
At AFRY, we collaborate across the country both in our technical networks and in our assignments, so there are good opportunities for exchange of experience and development in the areas that interest you.

Location for this position is Karlstad, Örebro or Västerås.
Requirement specification
For you to succeed well and thrive in your role as an environmental consultant, we are looking for you who have:
- University or college education in the environmental field with a scientific focus
- Good collaboration skills and interest in learning from others and contributing with your knowledge
- An analytical and strategic mindset
- A self-drive and good ability to see opportunities and solutions that add value to our customers.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing
- B-driving license
It is meritorious if you have:
- Knowledge of environmental impact assessments, environmental legislation and permit processes according to the Environmental Code
- Some years of experience as an environmental consultant or from environmental work at a municipality, county administrative board or in the private sector.
