Job Description


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Tech Lawyer to join our dynamic legal team as AFRY’s Data Protection Manager. You will be AFRY’s subject-matter expert on legal tech and digital compliance as well as the in-house lawyer with experience in commercial IT agreements. In this role you will drive our legal risk management strategy with regards to data protection and emerging legal risks associated with use of AI and digital technology. You will collaborate closely with the commercial legal team, the information security team, Group IT and other stakeholders to operationalize regulatory requirements and negotiate appropriate contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on matters related to legal technology, data protection and digital compliance.
  • Develop and maintain the group’s data protection program, including necessary steering documents, tools, templates, processes, agreements, records, and training library.
  • Contract negotiation and implementation. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with customers and ICT suppliers serving as an expert on data privacy, data protection, IPR, and cyber and information security. Designing strategies for implementing contractual and legal requirements related to data protection, IPR and cyber and information security provisions.
  • Hands-on support to the business with implementing efficient processes and to system owners with performing data protection and responsible AI risk assessments and maintaining records of processing and conformity.
  • Maintain a high awareness throughout the organization. Owning and continuously developing the company’s trainings on data protection, digital compliance and legal tech and responsible use of AI.
  • Manage legal and compliance aspects relating to investigations into data breaches and other related incident management processes.
  • Monitor new regulations and developments impacting data protection and related fields within legal tech, and advise the organization on the interpretation and implementation of legal requirements relating to digital compliance.



Qualifications


  • Trained lawyer with a degree in law
  • Experience from working in a company in-house legal or compliance function with data protection, privacy, cyber and information security and IPR protection
  • Proven experience in driving data protection processes, e.g. supporting data protection risk assessments and recording of processing, conducting trainings, managing data breaches and implementing compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with EDPB legal opinions, case laws and best practice relating to data protection, information security, AI and related legislative frameworks.
  • Experience from working with project and change management in a global organization, preferably within the tech sector using legal technology tools and platforms.
  • A problem-solving mindset and enjoy helping colleagues to find the best legal solutions and meet compliance requirements.
  • Ability to balance commercial objectives with compliance to regulatory requirements, ensuring both profitability and adherence to legal standards.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Swedish
