About the role
Our network within Mining Engineering consists of approximately 200 employees stationed in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Canada. In Sweden we have offices from Malmö in the south to Kiruna in the north. We are about 100 dedicated employees with specialized knowledge in engineering geology, rock mechanics, blasting technology and bedrock geology. Our groups are involved in assignments ranging from mapping for roads and railways, modeling of mineral deposits, feasibility studies and rock inspections for hydropower, field work and detailed design of new infrastructure and technical support during the construction phase of new housing projects.
Right now we are looking for you who are a geologist or engineer with experience of field surveys and investigations for construction in rock for our region in the Southwest. Common assignments are inspection and surveys of rock slopes, tunnels and planning for new construction of housing, roads and railways. With us, you can develop in the direction you are interested in, together with our senior colleagues in rock engineering, blasting technology and description work. If you become part of our larger infrastructure assignments, you will come into contact with our entire breadth of civil engineering with everything from geotechnics, bridge and construction to BIM and measurement technology.
In addition to becoming part of our community and taking part in our network's collective expertise, we can offer everything from large complex infrastructure projects in road and rail with underground rock structures to local rock engineering inspections, construction management and design.Our assignments are often varied and we work in interdisciplinary teams in good cooperation with some of AFRY's other 19,000 technical experts.
The location for the position is Gothenburg, but there is also the possibility of starting from one of our other offices in the region.
Requirements specification
We are looking for you who have worked with rock engineering for 2-5 years and have experience of inspection, design or following production with rock work. We would like to see that you have the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing and thrive on collaboration. Regardless, we hope that you feel comfortable leading technical discussions and thrive in an environment characterized by collaboration and customer contact.
You should have a university or college degree with a focus on rock geology or rock engineering and be able to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English. A merit is working with tunnels, CAD knowledge and that you have previously worked with technical descriptions and AB/ABT.
