Job Description

Our customer is seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer with experience in Plating processes such as electroplating as well as electroless and brush plating. This global role is crucial in supporting our customer design organization with knowledge of the function of coatings and possibilities of meeting properties when used on aerospace engine components. This includes developing processing specifications for manufacturing and engine maintenance as well as design practice. Auditing and approval of process suppliers are part of this role.

Key responsibilities

 Engineer providing specialist knowledge in plating methods to design teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DfM).

• Engineer responsible for maintaining and developing plating method standards and design practices.
• Contribute to review and approval of internal repair procedures for new production design.
• Contribute to substantiation of plating procedure in repair manual for design and delegated design responsibility from customers.
• Handle method questions and requests for approvals from manufacturing sites.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Preparing technical reports, instructions and presentations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience with chemical processes, in particular engineering knowledge within plating processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Aerospace industry.
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical data. Knowledge of SPC, tests and analysis controlling the processes is a prerequisite to be able to set the process requirements.
• Knowledge of cleaning, heat treatment, abrasive blasting and chemical pretreatments.
• Knowledge about aluminum anodizing and conversion coating.
• Competence within non-metallic materials, such as polymers, rubbers lubricants, grease, oils, coatings, and assess the potential impact on the metallic substrate.
• Competence within the field of oxidation/corrosion mechanisms and testing methods.
• Experience of Teamcenter.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Curious, methodical, independent & team player.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. (language Swedish/English).
• Ability to coordinate or lead teams and projects to ensure timely and successful completion.

Other Requirements for this position include undergoing and being approved according to the current security protection regulations, as well as completing a negative drug test before starting.

After the assignment is completed, the client's ambition is to offer the consultant a permanent position.
