You will provide support in various service areas and assignments and focus on sediment and surface water.

Duties

For the position of senior environmental consultant specializing in surface water and sediment, we are looking for you who are trained natural scientists (for example, biologist, chemist, ecotoxicologist, oceanographer or similar) and want to work with pollution issues.

Your tasks will include the following to varying degrees:

  • Commission management
  • Mapping of pollutant dispersion in aquatic environments
  • Risk assessment of sediment impacts (both chemical and
  • physical impacts of sediment particles)
  • Monitoring and control of turbidity impacts
  • Evaluation of mass management and dewatering methods
  • Investigation regarding impact on environmental quality standards for aquatic environments and
  • Expert support and advice in both early stages and construction phases
  • Review
  • Supervision of junior employees
  • Handling of tenders
  • Communication with supervisory authorities

Karlstad, Stockholm, Västerås, Örebro, Linköping or Norrköping

Requirement specification

To succeed and thrive in your role, we are looking for you who have:

  • University or college education in natural sciences such as biology, chemistry, ecotoxicology, oceanography, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a relevant field
  • Good collaboration skills and interest in learning from others and contributing with your experience
  • An analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to see opportunities and solutions that add value to our customers
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • B-.driving license

Knowledge or experience of

  • Risk assessments regarding sediment and particle dispersion
  • Distribution of sediment in aquatic environments
  • Planning of field work and certified sampling of sediment
  • Turbidity measurements and turbidity monitoring
  • Environmental quality standards for sediment and surface water
  • Work as a consultant or at an authority
  • Academic work
  • Work as a project manager or project leader
