About the role
Our network within Mining Engineering consists of approximately 200 employees stationed in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Canada. In Sweden we have offices from Malmö in the south to Kiruna in the north. We are about 100 dedicated employees with specialized knowledge in engineering geology, rock mechanics, blasting technology and bedrock geology. Our groups are involved in assignments ranging from mapping for roads and railways, modeling of mineral deposits, feasibility studies and rock inspections for hydropower, field work and detailed design of new infrastructure and technical support during the construction phase of new housing projects.
Now there is an opportunity for you as a senior rock technician to become part of our successful section in rock engineering and blasting technology in the Southwest. Our section consists of both younger and experienced colleagues in rock engineering, blasting and environmental impact. We are particularly looking for you to bring experience in rock construction and tunnel project management to our complex assignments in Sweden and abroad. Leading and coordinating other people and helping younger employees grow is a natural part of the role.

If you become part of our larger assignments in infrastructure, you will come into contact with our entire breadth in civil engineering with everything from geotechnics, bridge and construction to BIM and measurement technology.
We offer challenging tasks as a technical manager and senior rock technician in assignments with rock structures above and below ground and constantly win new assignments where knowledge of rock and rock rooms is in demand. Our assignments are often varied and we work in interdisciplinary teams in good cooperation with some of AFRY's other 19,000 technical experts.
The location for the position is Gothenburg, but there is also the possibility of starting from one of our other offices in the region.
Requirements specification
We are looking for you who have worked with rock engineering for at least 10 years and have experience of design, investigation and assignment management in rock construction projects. You have good knowledge of ABK09, and AB/ABT and have good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. You are expected to lead technical discussions and thrive in an environment characterized by collaboration and customer contact.
You have a university or college degree with a focus on bedrock geology or rock engineering and can communicate fluently in both Swedish and English. Experience from a leading position in other industries and from employment with other actors than consulting companies (contractor or developer) is an advantage.
