As an environmental consultant at AFRY, your assignments will vary, although we currently see the main needs in the industrial and energy segments, you may also work with infrastructure projects in rail and road and municipal plans. You will have the opportunity to participate in various assignments both locally, regionally and nationally. We need more environmental consultants who help and support our customers to deal with problems and find smart and innovative solutions. We are therefore now looking for an experienced and driven soil environment specialist in contaminated areas.

In the section for soil environment and contaminated areas in Malmö, we work widely with services in contaminated areas, such as environmental history inventories, environmental soil surveys, hydrogeological investigations, mass management, environmental advice, environmental and health risk assessments, remedial investigations and remedial measures.

We carry out projects in close collaboration with our sister section, which works with permit cases, water and air investigations, environmental impact assessments, environmental and nature investigations. The breadth of shared expertise together in the group contributes to interesting and varied assignments.

Requirements specification

We are looking for an experienced soil environment specialist who has at least 8-10 years of experience as an environmental technology consultant. You should be able to work as an expert advisor to our customers and support internally in the technical development of the business area. You must be able to assume the role of expert, technical support and quality manager in complex assignments in the soil environment and contaminated areas.

The position requires solid experience and being able to work in accordance with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's quality manual for Remediation of pollution damage (version 16). There is a requirement for documented experience of having carried out main studies and assignments with government funding for remediation of pollution damage. You should have carried out in-depth risk assessments as an assignment leader, specialist/expert support or quality reviewer.

It is meritorious if you have a passionate interest and experience in sharing knowledge and training colleagues regarding, for example, complex risk assessments and technical presentations to customers and regulatory authorities. Part of the role as a Soil Environment Specialist is to contribute to the development of the technical network within soil environment and contaminated sites at AFRY.

You are structured and enjoy acting as a specialist and technical expert in projects from the planning phase and start-up to delivery and experience feedback. Basically, you have an academic education in the environmental field as a civil engineer, environmental scientist, geoscientist or equivalent.

In addition to your analytical ability and technical knowledge, it is important that you have very good ability to communicate in Swedish in speech and writing as our customers are mainly within Sweden.
