Company description

AFRY offers services in engineering, design, digitalization and consulting. We are dedicated experts in industry, energy and infrastructure, creating value for future generations. AFRY has a global reach with deep roots in the Nordics. Together we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society.

About the role

Our clients are in several industries, e.g. renewables, forestry, pharmaceutical, steel and chemical industries. You will work on a mix of short and long term assignments. Furthermore, you will have several interfaces both internally and externally, nationally and internationally.

Safety within AFRY consists of a national team of approximately 80 specialists who have extensive experience in several areas of risk management. We have a culture of helping and developing each other, so you will be able to grow with us. Of course, we have benefits such as flexitime, wellness allowance, etc. for our employees and security through collective agreements. There is the opportunity to be a driver of technical development by getting involved in employee-driven work groups, led by our development team.

To meet the increasing demand for our services, we are looking for you who want to work with process safety. As an expert in process safety, you will create a safe plant for our customers. You will, among other things, work with one or more service areas:

  • Leading risk analyses, e.g. HAZOP, HAZID, SIL analyses, etc. Seveso, Environmental Code, LBE, LSO, etc
  • Act as HSE lead in design projects that AFRY runs
  • Calculate consequences in the form of fire, explosion and toxic emissions.

In your role as a risk consultant with us, there may be travel around Sweden and outside Sweden as our area of activity is international. Right now we are looking for employees mainly at AFRYs offices in Gothenburg, Stenungsund, Stockholm, Malmö, Borlänge and Örnsköldsvik. Other locations can also be discussed.

Requirement specification

We are looking for you who have previous experience of working with process safety, i.e. with one or more of the service areas mentioned above, either in the role of consultant or at a plant. You enjoy working with technology, are systematic and like to work with complex problems and are a team player. We would like to see that you have an academic degree as a civil engineer or acquired your knowledge according to the equivalent.

In the role as a consultant, you need to build personal networks both at the client companies and internally at AFRY. If you have a built-up network, we see it as a great advantage. Furthermore, you are good at maintaining and managing your existing relationships and you are triggered by finding new business opportunities. You also need the ability to manage a budget and deliver with short deadlines, as well as plan and organize your work yourself. If you also like to be an assignment leader and guide your colleagues, we see that as a plus. If, on the other hand, you find it more fun to specialize and have the opportunity to specialize in a particular area, this is another quality that is also viewed positively.

To work with security, high demands are placed on the ability to communicate. Therefore, you will be required to master the Swedish language fluently and be well versed in English in speech and writing.

We value personal integrity, accuracy and that you have a genuine interest in your work.

In Safety, we work with risk management, fire, work environment and community protection and preparedness. In addition to process safety, risk management also includes risk considerations in spatial planning, HSE coordination, climate risk analysis, etc. If you have experience beyond process safety, which is part of our service portfolio, it is a merit.
