Our high-tech customer in Trollhättan is currently in an exciting and highly expansive phase and needs the support of an engineer with a focus on system security. The department where the assignment is carried out works mainly with product support activities linked to jet engines but also works with development and upgrades. A large part of the business is focused on JAS 39 Gripen engines, but also stationary gas turbines and development of the next generation engine concept are included in the business.

They now want to strengthen their full engine team with a system safety engineer who will work with:

  • Ensure and evaluate the flight safety of the entire product and its system function together with other experienced system safety engineers
  • Using FMECA and fault trees, as well as analysis software such as Reliability Workbench, analyze system safety
  • Continuously contribute to introducing improvements in methods and tools
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and standards such as MIL-STD-882E and H SYSTSÄK. Formal processes, standards and thorough documentation will form the basis of your work.
  • Troubleshooting, problem solving and investigative work related to the use of engines in service or maintenance/testing
  • Meeting and collaborating with customers, end users and other partners

Initially, you will need to spend a lot of time understanding the product (jet engine) and understanding the company's processes and documentation of system safety activities

Qualifications

To be a suitable candidate, we have the following requirements:

  • High school or University degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aeronautics or similar
  • A genuine interest in understanding products from a systems perspective, how systems and subsystems interact
  • Strong interest in aviation safety and airworthiness
  • Mastery of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • As a person, you are well organized and structured, driven, thorough and positive
  • You are a team player with a humble approach

In addition, merit with:

  • Some years of experience in systems security work, preferably with elements of software, mechanics and/or electronics
  • Previous experience working in the aerospace industry or having worked on entire engine systems and systems integration on other systems

The position requires the candidate to undergo and pass a security clearance in accordance with the security regulations in force at the time. For some positions, this may entail a requirement for certain citizenship. A criminal record check and drug screening are also required prior to appointment to the role.
