About the role
Afry is looking for an experienced technical manager within road, street, land, or water to join our team in Västerås/Örebro. In this pivotal role, you will lead and oversee complex civil engineering projects and ensure the technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate civil engineering projects from conception to completion
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring compliance with quality standards and best practices.
- Participate in the planning and design of civil engineering projects.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure integrated and sustainable solutions.
- Responsible for monitoring and evaluating technical performance during project implementation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate project challenges
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors and government agencies
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and team members
Requirements
- High school or civil engineering degree with a focus on civil engineering or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in design and technical management in the civil engineering sector.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and technical guidelines.
- Leadership skills and experience in leading and developing technical teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and delivering successful projects
- Good knowledge of civil engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Novapoint and Civil 3D
- Basic understanding of Swedish building codes and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
