About the role

Afry is looking for an experienced technical manager within road, street, land, or water to join our team in Västerås/Örebro. In this pivotal role, you will lead and oversee complex civil engineering projects and ensure the technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate civil engineering projects from conception to completion
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring compliance with quality standards and best practices.
• Participate in the planning and design of civil engineering projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure integrated and sustainable solutions.
• Responsible for monitoring and evaluating technical performance during project implementation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate project challenges
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors and government agencies
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and team members

Requirements

• High school or Master's degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in design and technical management in the civil engineering sector.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and technical guidelines.
• Leadership skills and experience in leading and developing technical teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams and delivering successful projects
• Good knowledge of civil engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Novapoint and Civil 3D
• Basic understanding of Swedish building codes and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
