Customized Solutions is an R&D unit within AFRY where we create tailor-made solutions on behalf of our clients, in-house at our own premises. We are divided into four delivery models (Managed Agile Teams, Projects, Product Life Management and Production). The disciplines in which Customized Solutions works are mainly embedded (hardware, software) and mechanical design - from idea to production and maintenance. Our customers are mainly in the telecom, automotive, medical technology, defense, energy and manufacturing industries.
We at Customized Solutions work in a hybrid organization, with two to three days a week at one of our offices. Your duty station will be mixed between our R&D headquarters in Solna and our production site located in Saltsjö-Boo Nacka.
About the role
Are you an experienced project manager with knowledge in embedded systems and who is passionate about leading complex product development projects? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you! In this role, you will be responsible for the entire product development process, from early feasibility studies to industrialization.
As a technical project manager, you are responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered according to plan, you are responsible for organizing and leading planning sessions, budget follow-up and everything that is included to drive and deliver the project and the product to the finish line.
You coach and support your project members and strive for a learning atmosphere in the team. You are comfortable and used to leading teams in a development environment.
In this role you have contact with many different people in the business, therefore it is of great importance that you are a good communicator who has the ability to explain the complex in a simple way. Furthermore, you are also used to requirements and needs management and have the ability to compile these into concrete and realistic goals.

We place great emphasis on technical knowledge in this role, and therefore you are expected to have a solid technical foundation to stand on, complemented by experience in running technically complex projects.
In addition, we also look for knowledge in:
- Embedded systems: Understanding of real-time programming and low-level drivers.
- Hardware development: Experience working with printed circuit boards, microprocessors and ARM Cortex platforms.
- Software tools: Experience with version management tools such as Gerrit and programming skills in C and C++.
Preferred if you have/are:
- Documented experience in requirements management and technical traceability in product development projects.
- Certifications such as IPMA, PMI or PRINCE2.
- Experience from industries such as telecom, automotive, medical technology, or defense.
