About the role
Do you want to do your thesis in automation?
AFRY Advanced Automation is a large organization within AFRY, with over 600 dedicated employees in Sweden, we help our customers with advanced technical solutions at the same time as we are entering a transition in industry towards a greener future and more digitized world. We therefore see a great need to engage more competent employees and are now looking for you who want to write your thesis with us.
The idea of the thesis is to develop tools that streamline the work in automation projects. With the developed tools, linked to database, Excel / Word etc. you will be able to automatically generate coding for control systems and HMI images in the automation systems as well as some of the documentation in delivered automation projects. Work will involve some coding with SQL and high-level languages such as.
We would like this thesis to be completed by one to two students. For support, supervision will be provided by AFRY where an official supervisor is assigned.
If you have your own idea of how you would like to redirect the thesis, we are happy to discuss it and see how it could be suitable for our business and identified needs going forward.
Timeline
Start-up and implementation during 2025. The thesis is carried out with the possibility of sitting at both AFRY's office and at the university.
Requirement specification
We are looking for you who plan to complete your degree project in the spring of 2025 and who are studying for a civil or university engineer in automation, Bachelor or Master.
You are in the final stage of your education and are interested in industrial automation & IT and have a good understanding and interest in "capturing" needs & facts and programming a solution using coding in high-level languages using SQL, C#, Python, etc.
It is meritorious if you have worked with programming before. Good knowledge of Swedish and English is a requirement.
The Automation job is particularly suitable for those with an interest in one or more of the areas below:
- Automation & IT, plc, Scada
- Programming in C#, Python and the like.
