About the role
Now is the chance to do a master's thesis at AFRY in collaboration with Rockwell Automation Emulate 3D. The unique team at AFRY working with the product RDT (Real Digital Twin) is looking for two really sharp problem solvers who are driven by being at the absolute forefront of innovation and technology in digital twins and industry. AFRY's product RDT is applied in all industries that contain automation and the team works widely with, for example, the process, pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries.

The team at AFRY working with RDT is in an expansion phase and is constantly looking for new challenges and the best employees.
AFRY RDT has recently started a collaboration with Rockwell Automation, a world leader in digital transformation and industrial automation.
The next step in the RDT - Emulate 3D relationship is to merge these systems with the hope that 1 + 1 = 3!

Job description
The main task of this thesis is to integrate RDT's high-resolution emulation with Emulate 3D's advanced simulation and visualization for a growing global market.
Example of tasks:
- Deep dive into the Emulate 3D product
- Training on the RDT product and RDT Framework
- Developing and testing industrial communication interfaces
- Developing intelligent ways to transfer data between process and hardware
- Integrating process dynamics with hardware emulation
- Develop tools to generate and import data between systems
If time permits, the work may also include the connection of control systems and superordinate systems to run the processes and stress test the interfaces and synchronization between the graphics and the virtual hardware.
Timeline
Normally thesis for Master level 20 weeks. We envision it to be completed in spring 2025, full time on site in Gothenburg.
The thesis is best suited to be performed by two people, if you apply together with someone, please indicate the person in the application. Remuneration is based on AFRY's standard remuneration for degree projects.
Requirements
You are studying your master's in one of the following programs:
- Automation and Mechatronics
- Chemistry and Biotechnology
- Technical Physics
You are a team player, want to work with really good engineers and have the following qualities:
- Structured

- Open minded, open minded
- High attention to detail
