Mårängskolan is located in Sävast, an expansive area between Luleå and Boden, 7 km from the center of Boden. We have about 400 pupils from preschool class to year 6. We make sure that all pupils have a good learning environment and develop with us, both socially and in their learning. In the fall of 2023, our new modern school building was inaugurated with spacious and varied learning environments that create good conditions for learning. In January 2025, the renovation of our entire original building will be completed and updated to the same basic idea as the new building. We invest in collegial learning to harness and disseminate the good knowledge and experience that exists within the walls of the school, but of course we also turn outwards to learn from the research and development that others are conducting. This year, we are focusing on effective teaching and building the sense that we are one school despite two buildings, "Måräng together". The school works with experiential learning. Among other things, our students will have three exciting adventures during their years with us at Måräng. We also strive for experiences to reinforce the daily learning in school. After nine years of close cooperation, the current deputy principal is moving on to a principal's assignment and I, Principal Annevi, need a new person to share the management responsibility with. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Together with me, the school's principal, you will be responsible for and conduct school development for improved school results and positive social development among students. You will, among other things, be responsible for producing documentation for the systematic quality work. We analyze and take action together. On delegation, you will have staff responsibility for the primary school and after-school staff. The work is done in close collaboration and close dialog with me but at the same time requires own drive and great personal responsibility. In school development issues, the school's three special educators / teachers and the school's four first teachers are also driving forces. The tasks for the deputy principal are many, challenging, stimulating, varied and important. You have the chance to influence and develop the future of the rising generation. You will work in a team with the principal, where you will run and develop the school together. There is access to operational support at the School Development Centre, which organizes local and central student health, IT and communication, and a central reception unit for newly arrived students. At central level, there is support from HR, finance, IT and the office. As an assistant principal, you will be a good ambassador for the school, the Employment and Education Administration and for Boden municipality. To be considered for the position of assistant principal, you are prepared to start the principal program and to fully assume a future principal's assignment. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have a teaching degree with a few years of experience in the teaching profession. Previous experience of working as a manager/leader is an advantage. You see collaboration as a prerequisite for success and are humble in the face of the complex issues a school leader faces. You are passionate about school development and quality in schools and are grounded in current school research. We want you to be responsive in your leadership, to be able to create good relationships and to have a positive view of students. You work in a structured way and have good experience of documentation and follow-up. You have adequate skills in digital development work, to absorb new systems and use them in your work. You see the importance of focus and a long-term approach to your work. You can quickly adapt and deal with changes and changing conditions that arise in the work. You remain effective and motivated despite setbacks and act with high integrity and loyalty in your leadership role.
