The Public Works Administration shall with a forward-looking approach make available, maintain, manage and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure and transport. The work of the administration is permeated by cooperation, holistic approach and efficient use of resources. Through good planning, the administration contributes to an attractive living environment that is sustainable in the long term from an ecological, social and economic point of view.
The Public Works Administration consists of the following operational areas: Spatial Planning, Water, Sewerage and Waste, Streets, Parks and Forests and Real Estate, Environment and Construction. The Projects and Investment Unit manages and coordinates the administration's new and reinvestments.
The Water, Sewerage and Waste Management Department is divided into four units: the Water Operation/Biogas Unit, the Development and Support Unit, the Waste/Customer Service Unit and the Materials Recycling Unit.
DUTIES
As an operations technician at VA-Teknik, you work in a team consisting of a production manager, two automation technicians and two operations technicians. The tasks consist of:
- Water meter replacements
Performing meter changes about 700 per year. Analyzing data from water meters to detect leaks and anomalies in the distribution network. Performing pressure and flow measurements
- Repair work operation and maintenance.
Repair of equipment used in water and biogas operations. Installation and assembly of replacement or new equipment (pumps, sensors, instruments, pipes, fittings, etc.) Inspection and cleaning of drinking water reservoirs Preventive maintenance and spare parts management.
- computerized documentation, statistics and record-keeping
Documentation of all pressure measurements, flow tests, replacements, and installations. Documenting deviations on the water meters, for example. Freezing, External influences, Missing seals etc. Ensure that all documents are properly archived and available for future needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a high school diploma, preferably with a technical focus. B-driving license and computer skills are a requirement.
It is an advantage if you have experience from process/operation of water and wastewater plants or equivalent. Or if you have operational technician training, focusing on water technology / biogas or electrical authorization.
You have a positive attitude and want to contribute to a good atmosphere in the workplace. We place great emphasis on how you are as a person and how you work in teams and with other people.
As the work is often carried out in the form of lone work, the role requires a high degree of independence and responsibility. The role requires you to be able to plan, evaluate information and situations that arise, as well as perform your tasks within set time frames. The role involves a lot of customer contact, which requires high social skills.
Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Usually Swedish citizenship is required. A security check with a register check will then be carried out before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
