Your role:

As a mining engineer in the Renströms mine, you have a key role in planning and shaping the future of the mine! The assignment includes working on the mine's strategic expansion, mining methods and mining design, and the mine's infrastructure development. You will also lead and participate in both development projects and strategically important investment projects linked to the mine's future infrastructure. It is a broad and varied assignment that requires your ability to be both structured and flexible. To succeed in the role, it is important that you are self-motivated and have a strong self-drive, as you are given freedom under responsibility to plan and carry out your work. We also see that you are a calm and confident person with strengths in communication, collaboration and problem solving.


Your team:

You will be part of the mine planning section in Renström. The section includes mine surveying, geology, mine media planning, production planning and long term planning. In your role you will actively collaborate with colleagues within the section, the production unit and with other functions within the business.


Your tasks:

  • Responsible for life of mine planning, mine design and scheduling.
  • Evaluate mining methods and design mining areas.
  • Planning of production drilling for slab mining.
  • Production follow-up, post-calculation and reporting.
  • Driving and actively participating in projects and improvement works within the planning section and for the future needs of the mine.
  • Profitability calculation.


Your contribution:

  • University or college education with a focus on mining technology, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language or willingness to learn, and good knowledge of English.
  • B-driving license.


It is meritorious if you have previous experience of working in mining operations and if you have knowledge or previous experience of working in Deswik Cad and Deswik IS.

The Boliden area in the mineral-rich Skellefte field in Västerbotten was the site of the first gold discovery, which laid the foundation for a community and our business that has employed several generations of employees. Today, the area consists of the Kankberg, Renström and Kristineberg underground mines. There is also a concentrator and a leaching plant for gold and tellurium production. The number of employees in the Boliden area is currently around 650. In Renström we are about 200 people.
