Your role:

We are looking for you who are committed, careful and have a great interest in underground geology. As a Mining Geologist with us in the Kankberg mine, you get a varied job with freedom under responsibility as a large part of your days are independent work. In this role, you will have a central function in our operations where your main tasks will include mapping of underground gables and drill cores in drill core archives above ground. The role also includes geomodeling, documenting geological data and analyzing mapped material. As a Mining Geologist with us, it is important that you are calm, methodical and can manage your own days. You will collaborate and provide geological and technical support to your colleagues who are also part of the mine planning section, but also together with rock mechanics and production. Your team:

You are part of a team of ten people with different roles such as mine surveyors, mining geologists, mining engineers, mine planners and a diamond drilling supervisor. You all report to the Section Manager for Mine Planning. You are located in Kankberg and every week there are trips to our drill core archive located in Boliden.

Your contribution:

• University or college education in geosciences or similar.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language or willingness to learn, and good knowledge of English.
• Driving license for passenger car.

Experience in a similar type of role with drill core mapping is a merit and we would like you to have experience with Deswik and Leapfrog. A merit is also if you have good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.

The Boliden area in the mineral-rich Skellefte field in Västerbotten is where the first gold discovery was made, laying the foundation for a community and our business that has employed several generations of employees. Today, the area consists of the Kankberg, Renström and Kristineberg underground mines. There is also a concentrator and a leaching plant for gold and tellurium production. The number of employees in the Boliden area is currently around 650. In Kankberg we are about 120 people.
