Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that shape modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.

Your role:

The Boliden concentrator is one of the most complex plants in the world, enriching ore from four different mines and using a variety of processes to produce metal concentrates. As a Process Engineer at the concentrator, you play a key role in supporting and improving our processes. You'll be part of the day-to-day operations, keeping close contact with production while working on long-term solutions and systematic development. In this role, you will support production and make decisions that affect process efficiency. You will be part of a multidisciplinary and diverse team, where you are expected to contribute to and drive the technical development of our processes. You will be part of a business where we work with continuous improvement, prioritize health, environment and safety and have a production focus.

Your team:

You report to the process manager and collaborate with two other process engineers and a supervisor for the laboratory, which consists of eight laboratory technicians. You will also work closely with other functions, including supervisors and process operators.

Your tasks:

You will be a coordinating function and spend your days with varied tasks, including:

  • Daily monitoring of production
  • Analysis and reporting of process results and metallurgical balances
  • Process development, often in collaboration with our operations organization
  • Planning and review of lab trials and pilot tests

Your contribution:

  • High school education and either university or college education with a focus on engineering, chemistry, metallurgy or similar, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with similar type of issues and a strong interest in mineral engineering, chemical engineering, process chemistry or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English
  • Driving license for passenger car

Why work with us:

At Boliden, we believe in fostering a workplace where care, courage and responsibility are central to everything we do. We offer a workplace where we believe in collaboration and where what you contribute will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company made up of responsible and creative people all working towards the same vision; to become the most sustainable and respected metal supplier in the world.

The concentrator belongs to the Boliden area together with three mines and plays a central role in extracting and producing metals. The ore from the mines comes to us to be refined into concentrates that can be sold to our customers, the smelters. Here, the ore undergoes a number of different processing steps, including grinding, flotation and leaching of precious metals. An important part of our business is also the maintenance of our sand storage facility and the treatment of process water before it is released into the environment.
