The Boliden area consists of the underground mines Kankberg, Renström and Kristineberg. Boliden also has a concentrator and a leaching plant for gold and tellurium production. The Boliden area currently employs around 700 people. Read more about the Boliden area here.
Your role:
Safety is at the top of the agenda at Boliden and as a safety worker you have a central role in ensuring that we are the safe and secure work environment we want to be. You will work independently, be flexible and have a strong commitment to safety issues. Your tasks include working with health and safety on site to achieve continuous improvements as well as ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations in the Boliden area. In this advertisement we offer two positions as summer workers at the Boliden area mines; Kankberg, Renström and Kristineberg. The employment period can stretch between May and August. Working hours Renström/Kankberg daytime Monday-Friday 06.00-14.00 and free every other Friday. Working hours Kristineberg daytime 05.30-14.30 free every Friday.
Your team:
You will be part of a team consisting of seven employees working in the Boliden area, of which three are stationed in Kristineberg, three in Renström and one in the Kankberg mine. One position will involve transfers between Renström and Kankberg mine and one will be stationed in Kristinberg mine, but cooperation takes place between the mines and travel between them may therefore occur. You will report to the Head of Fire and Protection for the Boliden area.
Your duties:
- Carry out checks and take remedial action in situations regarding fire and protection.
- Rescue chamber
- Sprinkler
- Fire alarm
- Fire extinguisher
- Fire hydrants
- Hold the local safety training.
- Check and inform about personal protective equipment.
- Ensure that signs are in place and visible.
- Chemical inventories.
- Personal gas meters.
- Reading any alarms
- Filling gas to calibration stations
- Sending and receiving for service
- Distributing new ones
- General maintenance to prevent accidents.
Requirements for the posts:
- Present or completed secondary education.
- At least 18 years of age at the start of employment.
- Driving license for passenger car.
- Be able to communicate in Swedish and English.
