Description of activities

Maria Preschool is located in central Gällivare close to the library, swimming pool and museum. Maria preschool has organized the activities in age-divided groups. The preschool consists of 2 buildings with separate courtyards. In one building there are 3 departments with children aged 1-2 years. In the other building there are 5 departments with children in age-divided groups aged 3-5 years. At Maria preschool, we work in 3, 4, and 5-year-old groups, which means that the teams collaborate across the departments and give the children the opportunity to explore and discover different learning environments.

The children's own interests and abilities guide our activities, which promotes the opportunity for our educators to work with research together with the children. The preschool has flexible teams that work together for collegial learning.

Tasks

The work as a nursery nurse means that you, together with the team, design a safe and developing education for the children in the preschool's department. The curriculum guidelines describe the responsibility you have in the team when it comes to developing, following up and evaluating the activities and education.

Qualifications

Trained childminder or other experience that the employer considers equivalent.

It is important:
- that you are familiar with our governing document, Läroplan för förskolan (Lpfö18),
- that you are a confident and clear leader, have the ability to take your own initiative, are positive and have faith in the children's different competencies,
- that you are interested in developing the learning environments, and in using digital tools,
- that you are concerned about trusting relationships with children and guardians and that you have good collaboration skills.

Strong emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

In the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Interviews may take place on an ongoing basis. Appointment is subject to the condition that the position does not need to be utilized by existing staff due to redundancy or other reason. For the position, an extract from the Police's criminal record is required.

Working hours / Duration

100% temporary position from 2025-01-07 until 30-06-2025, with the possibility of extension.
