The Department for Disability is part of the Social Administration. Personal assistance is a right that enables people with severe disabilities to live as independent a life as possible. The support should always be personalized and the individual has the right to choose who will work as a personal assistant.

Work tasks

We are looking for assistants for the assignments according to the user's wishes who have experience from work in health and care, personal assistance or other experience that can be judged equivalent. You should be calm, confident and responsive to the user's needs and good at working independently. Being a personal assistant involves varied work with diverse tasks that are adapted and designed together with the individual. The tasks are governed by the individual's needs and the working hours are spread throughout the year. The workplace is located outside the urban area.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with health and social care education, assistant nurse or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience of the care profession is an advantage. As a person, you should be flexible, master the Swedish language in both speech and writing and have basic computer skills. For this job, a driver's license is required.

Strong emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
