Business description
Tallbackaskolan is a F-6 school with about 350 students as well as an after-school department and two preparatory classes, located in a residential area between Gällivare and Malmberget. The central student health service is located at the school and the students have access to a school counselor, school nurse, 2 special educators, school psychologist and the principals. The after-school program is a complement to the school where students' abilities are developed through various forms of expression and based on the students' interests.
Duties
Your duties as deputy principal largely involve having a close leadership to staff and students. There is a focus on the school's core processes and you should be able to be executive and operational under a delegated responsibility from the principal. You are involved in organizational changes, distribution of services and scheduling. The scope of work includes grades F-6 and other general tasks related to the work environment and administration. Your area of responsibility includes management of day-to-day activities, personnel and follow-up responsibilities. You are part of the student health work. The assignment as deputy principal includes collaboration with the municipality's school management group, other authorities, guardians, other administrations in Gällivare municipality, etc.
You also have responsibility for educational development work in your area. In all areas of responsibility, it is important that you see your area of responsibility as part of the whole school and have a long-term and unpretentious approach.
Qualifications
We would like you to have management experience from school activities. Your own educational background should be at academic level and in the field of education. We expect you to have your own experience of working in education in schools. We are looking for you who are committed, responsible and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team. You will meet and interact with many different people, which requires good communication skills and social agility. To succeed in this role, you need to enjoy working with others and be able to take different people's perspectives on various issues that you encounter in your everyday life and in development work. You should also be a clear leader who has the ability to create good cohesion in a working group and get thoughts and ideas heard in decision-making processes.
As an assistant principal, you are motivated by working towards goals and transforming the goals into concrete, goal-oriented work together with your colleagues. You should have the ability to see connections, to reason your way to possible solutions with limited/complex information. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
