Description of activities

Tallbackaskolan is a world heritage school with just over 300 pupils aged 6-13 years, located in the middle area, midway between Malmberget and Gällivare. The atmosphere is characterized by openness and curiosity about new ways of working. We place great emphasis on educational discussions and peer learning, which is the driving force in our development work.

Work tasks

The class mentor is placed in a class and acts as support to the teacher and students throughout the school day and also in the after-school program. The tasks vary from being a break host, adult support during transitions, homework help, support for teaching teachers and students during lesson time, implementation of teaching when needed, implementation of teaching in the recreation center and some planning time together with the class teacher / recreation teacher. Short-term substitute teaching/leisure teacher/pupil resource may be provided when the house substitute services do not cover the absence of the regular staff member.

Qualifications

At least a secondary school diploma or training in children and/or leisure, activity leader in leisure centers or other training deemed equivalent and relevant by the employer. Experience of working with children and pupils in groups is desirable. Experience from school, leisure center or/and other activities where you have been a leader of groups of children is an advantage. You should have good social skills, be self-motivated, enterprising, responsible and have a good attitude towards colleagues, pupils and guardians. We expect you to have good communication skills and proficiency in the Swedish language in speech and writing. We will take great account of personal suitability.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

An extract from the police's criminal record is a requirement.
