Business description
The finance department consists of financial control/accounting, financial administrators and purchasing. The financial control unit handles overall budgeting, financial statements and follow-up processes. The financial control unit assists the administrations, committees and boards with qualified controller support in financial and strategic issues.
Your organizational affiliation is under the Support and Development Administration (SoU), it is the municipality's central competence for development, administration, finance, personnel, IT and information. Your position is located in the Finance Department/Financial Control Unit and you will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is aimed at the Public Works and Technology Administration.
Duties
As a controller, you are part of a group of seven other controllers/economists who manage the municipality's overall finances and support the municipality's operations in budget processes, financial follow-up and analysis, investigations and preparation of cases and accounting, etc. Your task is to be a driving force and lead development in the finance area towards the administrations but also the development overall together with the entire finance department. As this position is aimed at the Public Works and Technology Administration, some tasks are linked to the ongoing social transformation.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university education, preferably a master's degree, in financial management or other level of education and experience that the employer considers relevant. Experience of working in public administration is an advantage but not a requirement. In your work you will have many personal contacts and it is therefore important that you like to work with people, have a pedagogical streak, be solution-focused and have a strong sense of service, it is also positive if you are interested in social issues. We assume that you are familiar with Office packages, especially Excel, and that you are easy to express yourself in speech and writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
